Eine Sound- und Videoinstallation in der Balance zwischen Natur, Mensch und Digitalität
'tridacten_star_404' besteht im Kern aus einem Muster, welches aus einem Foto der Schale einer 'Tridacna' (Riesenmuschel) entwickelt wurde. So besteht der Videopart aus einer Eis-Fliese mit dem Muster als Relief, die während des Schmelzens gefilmt und in der digitalen Nachbearbeitung weiter verfremdet wurde. Die Skulpturen sind ebenfalls aus dem Muster entwickelt.
Das 'ten' von 'tridacten' entspringt dem englischen 'tentacle' (Tentakel) und bezieht sich auf die alienhafte Verfremdung. 'star' steht mehrdeutig für sich selbst, die Sterne im Universum, gleichzeitig berühmte Leute und generell das Greifen nach den Sternen. Die '404' im Titel leitet sich von der Fehlermeldung '404' ab, die im Internet auftaucht, wenn der gesuchte Inhalt aus unterschiedlichen Gründen nicht angezeigt werden kann.
Während im analogen Part die Skulpturen in Wasser und Vakuum-Beuteln portioniert verpackt und zusammen mit Sound- und Videoelementen zu einer Installation werden, tauchen die Besucher:innen im digitalen Raum in das Innere des 'tridacten_star' ein.
Vom Meeresgrund über das Land zu den Menschen, raus in den Weltraum, wo liegt der Fokus des Menschen? Und vielmehr: Wo sollte er liegen?
A sound- and videoinstallation in the balance between nature, humans and digitality
In its core 'tridacten_star_404' consists of a pattern, which is developed out of the shell of a 'tridacna' (giant clam). The video part is created from an ice-tile with the pattern as its relief, which was filmed while melting and got more abstracted in postproduction. The sculptures are also developed from the pattern.
The 'ten' in 'tridacten' has its origin in the word 'tentacle' und is connected to the alienlike transformation. 'star' stands plurivalent for itself, the stars in the universe, simultaneously for famous people and in general for the reaching for the stars. The '404' in the title derives from the error message '404', which appears in the internet, when the searched content can't be shown for various reasons.
Whereas in the analog part the sculptures are portioned in water in vacuum-bags and become an installation conjoined with sound- and videoelements, in the digital room of the exhibtion visitors can dive into the core of the 'tridacten_star'.
From the floor of the ocean to land surface to humans and further out into the outer space, where is the focus of humans? And much more: Where should it be?
