I am not a doll / Miyeon Chung

I thought that Asian women could be sexually objectification too easily. When I looked at the world I was in, I thought that Asian women could be objectified too easily. That is why solidarity was necessary, and it seemed that we had to continue to be interested and voice with each other. Vaguely, I have collected stories of moments when others experienced discrimination against people living in other cities in Europe and Germany. As we gathered the stories, we were in solidarity with each other, we were sad and we were angry together. The anger emanating from this place came like a force that could arise again. I started looking for things that could be expressed in words and actions rather than silence, and this is a video created for these reasons.

 

Wounded by words of curiosity or jokes, all of them turned into dolls. These women are confined to machines and pass passive and selfless. Many unspecified men can easily consume this.

As dolls disappear from the machine, the remaining dolls

become ego. When the dolls that were passive became egos

and the society acted to break the given standard and frame,

the machine no longer works.
